The Bangladesh Canada Friendship Society (BCFS) is delighted to share that the observance of International Mother Language Day and Ekushey February, held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, was a tremendous success.

Hosted at the Arthur L. Irving Entrepreneurship Center at Saint Mary’s University, the event brought together community members of all ages in a meaningful and inclusive celebration of language, culture, and heritage. The program began with a heartfelt tribute at the Shahid Minar, where attendees paid their respects with floral offerings, honoring the legacy of the language movement.

The event featured a vibrant lineup of activities, including an engaging art and drawing competition for children, inspiring cultural performances by young participants, and a thoughtful documentary screening tailored for kids.
